About our school

The Surrey Sound of Music is a Music School offering instrumental tuition in Flute, Singing, Piano, Bassoon, Violin, Drums & Guitar.

We are mobile tutors – we come to you! All lessons taught in your home, or lessons via Zoom available on request.

Please contact our Directors, Rachel Demetri & Emma Scales, who would be very happy to speak to you about any enquiries you may have about instrumental lessons!

We teach all ages (including adults!) so don’t hesitate to get in contact. We look forward to hearing from you!

Our philosophy

The Surrey Sound of Music’s philosophy is to make learning music fun whilst gaining the confidence, skills, techniques and discipline required to become a musician. We teach music for graded exams, usually following the ABRSM exam board or just as a hobby! In order to maintain a steady progress, reports are also provided at the end of the year. This gives an overview of achievements, development and future goals.

 Our lessons

All lessons are fun, enjoyable and taught in students’ homes, where learning is in a comfortable and relaxed environment. We aim to provide tuition where the student can feel most at ease, making learning that extra bit more inspiring! The Surrey Sound of Music’s tutors’ travel to students within a 10 mile radius of Sutton, Surrey. Lessons are given in 30 minute, 45 minute or 1 hour lessons.

Our Teachers

All of our teachers have a real passion for music and love to see their pupils develop. They will prepare their students for exams if required and help them to reach their own personal goals.

All tutors hold an enhanced DBS check.

Please peruse our individual tutor pages to find out more information.
